A Kingdom Divided?

Matthew 12:22-26 (NIV)
22. Then they brought him (Jesus) a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. 23. All the people were astonished and said, "Could this be the Son of David?"
24. But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons." 25. Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?"

Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined!!! Jesus said so Himself!!

If God was CAUSING the sickness that Jesus was HEALING, His kingdom would be divided against itself!! But it is very clear from Acts 10:38 that it was SATAN who was oppressing people, and it was JESUS who was HEALING them:

Acts 10:38 (NIV)
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Notice that Jesus went around DOING GOOD, and that "doing good" included HEALING. And those He HEALED were "under the power of the devil"!!

Acts 10:38 is one of the most important verses in the Bible, because it helps us understand God's nature, and His love for us! God NEVER causes sickness or disease!! If He had, He would be divided against Himself, since when Jesus went to the cross, He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases!!

Matthew 8:17 (NIV)
This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."

Don't ever blame God for sickness or disease! It is the work of the devil, not of God! The Kingdom Of God is not divided against itself!

PRAYER
Thank You Father for Your life-giving Word. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to save me by His work at the cross. Help me to remember that it is the devil who is behind sickness, not You. Thank You for providing for my supernatural healing through Your Word.
