Remembering Who We Are

After writing yesterday's Daily Word, I got to thinking. What do people think "sin-mindedness" is???

Sin-mindedness is the perspective that sin is a focal point of the Christian walk.

As pointed out yesterday, SIN HAS NOTHING TO DO with the Christian walk!! We are told to not even THINK about it!!

Philippians 4:8 (NIV)
8. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

Once again; is sin noble??? Is sin right??? Is sin pure??? Is sin lovely??? Is sin admirable??? Is sin excellent??? Is sin praiseworthy???
A thousand times NO!

Therefore, according to the Bible we are NOT to be even thinking about SIN!!!

Sin-mindedness brings CONDEMNATION, and according to the Bible, there IS no condemnation for us!!

Romans 8:1,2 (NIV)
1. Therefore, there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2. because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

If someone is constantly looking at themselves and trying to "figure out what is wrong", that means they are soaking in the devil's condemnation, and NOT seeing themselves through GOD'S EYES!!!

As the above verses say, We have been set FREE from the law of sin and death!! The law of sin and death was the devil's ammunition against us; it was how he could rightfully accuse us before God the Father!! But now the law is cancelled, and the devil HAS no ammunition against the children of God!!

Colossians 2:13-15 (NIV)
13. When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us ALL our sins, 14. having CANCELED the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Why did God even BOTHER canceling the law and casting satan (the accuser) down from Heaven if He still wanted us to be accused and condemned???

The devil is prowling about like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. The fact that he is LOOKING for someone means he can't just devour ANYONE!! The devil can only "devour" people who are SIN-MINDED!! When he accuses them, sin-minded people will react by agreeing with the devil's accusations against them, thus bringing down condemnation on themselves!!

But GOD'S perspective of us is as clear as the nose on your face:

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him WE might become the righteousness of God.

WHO is the righteousness of God??? Is it the Holy Spirit inside you??? Is it some other Christian who "has his act together and doesn't sin"??? NOOOOO!!! YOU ARE!!!! YOU have become the righteousness of God; meaning all the devil's accusations against you AMOUNT TO NOTHING!!!

Was Paul lying to us in Romans 8:35-39 ????

Romans 8:35-39 (NIV)
35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36. As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37. NO, in all these things WE are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him who loved us.
38. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39. neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Can your own imperfections "separate" you from God??? NO!! You have ALREADY OVERCOME the world and all its puny problems!!

1 John 5:4,5 (NIV)
4. for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

YOU are MORE THAN A CONQUEROR!!! Jesus Christ won the war, and He wants YOU to reap the spoils!!!

YOU ARE A FAVORED child of God, and God doesn't see sin in you!! God doesn't see your flaws; God sees your POTENTIAL!!!!

1 John 4:4 (NIV)
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Read the New Testament epistles all the way through, and look for a place where Paul is wondering what is wrong with himself!! Here's a clue: YOU WON'T FIND ANY!!!

Paul was busy going about doing God's business, and that's what WE should be doing!! There is no time for giving the devil a foothold in our lives. We need to kick the devil out of every situation and simply DO whatever is the next thing God wants us each to do, ignoring the devil's accusations that we aren't good enough!!

PRAYER
Thank You Father for delivering me from the time of wrath. Thank you for your perfect love for me. Help me to stay in a constant state of being convicted of the righteousness I have received from You as a gift, so I can be useful in Your Kingdom!!
