Revelation 13:5,6 (KJV)
5. And there was given unto him (the antichrist) a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

The antichrist will have great charisma & speaking ability, "speaking great things". The world is completely taken in by his speaking ability, and his plan for peace that seems so wonderful:

Revelation 13:4 (NIV)
4. Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"

The Antichrist will rise to power on a wave of world euphoria, as he temporarily saves the world from its desperate economic, military & political problems with a brilliant 7-year plan for world peace, economic stability & religious freedom. The world will say "Who can make war against him?" because his plan seems to be a brilliant way top bring peace, that no-one could argue against.

The book of the prophet Daniel gives us lots of insight into the antichrist's reign. After three and a half years of peace under his peace plan, the antichrist will desecrate the Jews' temple fortress, take away the daily sacrifice that the Jews will return to practicing for three and a half years, and set up the image in honor of himself mentioned in Revelation:

Daniel 11:31,32 (NIV)
31. His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. 32. With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.

Here we can see that the antichrist will be adept at flattery, and deceitful regarding his promise to Israel.

Daniel 11:36,37 (KJV)
36. And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. 37. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

The arrogance of this man will be astounding. He will exalt himself above everyone and everything, and yet because of his charm, people will go along with it! Verse 37 tells us he will not regard the God of his "fathers" ("fathers" in this Hebrew context means those who have come before him), nor will he regard the "desire for women" (he will support homosexuality). His disregard for the God of his fathers points to his rejection of God's ways. (He will support what God calls immoral: like abortion, sodomy, homosexual marriage, etc.)

Daniel 11:38,39 (NIV)
38. Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his fathers he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts. 39. He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price.

The antichrist will honor a foreign god; a god that not normally worshipped in his country.

We can only speculate as to his plan of peace, but most likely the terms of the his "covenant" will make Jerusalem an international city to which Judaism, Islam & Christianity will have equal rights. The Jews will be permitted to rebuild their Temple on Mt. Moriah (where the original Jewish temple was built- 2 Chronicles 3:1), where they will revive their ancient sacrifices.

In short, if you put it all together, most of the world is going to think the antichrist is wonderful, as he will seem to have solved so many of the world's problems. But three and a half years into his seven year reign, he will break his covenant with Israel.

At that time he will make Jerusalem his world capitol and outlaw all religions, except the worship of himself and his image (the abomination that causes desolation). The Bible says that the antichrist will sit in the Jewish temple exalting himself as God and demanding to be worshipped. It is at that time that the Antichrist will impose his infamous "666" one-world monetary system.

PRAYER
Thank You Father for delivering me from the time of wrath. Thank you for your perfect love for me. Show me how I can make you known to those who are now headed for judgement and destruction.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
