Our Blessed Hope (Part 2)

2 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV)
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

This "coming" of Jesus is the great and terrible "Day Of The Lord" spoken of so many times by the prophets in the Old Testament. It is a day of horror and destruction on the earth:

Joel 1:15 (NIV)
Alas for that day! For the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

Joel 2:1,2 (NIV)
1. Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand-- 2. a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness.

Here is a description of the "Day Of The Lord" from Revelation 19:

Revelation 19:11-21 (NIV)
11. I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17. And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18. so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great." 19. Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.
20. But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21. The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

The Day Of The Lord is a day of wrath against those who have rejected Christ, and have therefore made themselves God's enemies! The antichrist comes to deceive THEM, as part of the judgement against them.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (NIV)
9. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10. and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12. and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Those who are left after the rapture are "those who are perishing"!! But God DID NOT APPOINT His people to suffer wrath, but to receive salvation:

1 Corinthians 5:9 (NIV)
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Day Of The Lord is a day of God's wrath against all of mankind who rejected Him. God did not appoint believers to suffer that wrath, but to receive His salvation!! It's very simple. According to The Bible, EVERYONE will receive either God's salvation or His wrath!! Those who received Jesus Christ receive God's salvation. Those who did not receive God's wrath!!

The time of the rapture is very near!! We have many Biblical evidences that the false prophet who will usher in the antichrist is now alive, and the prophecies about the end times are about to come to fulfillment!!

The devil's deception is growing stronger every day, as now even a godless muslim man, who represents every evil belief in this world, can run for president in the United States (which used to be a Christian nation) , and very likely receive majority support!!

The muslims have announced that the coming of their "12th Imam" (the antichrist of the Bible) is at hand, and at least one of his present day "prophets", the president of Iran, has already gained power, and has made a speech to the United Nations pleading with everyone to "turn to Allah", since the coming of the "12th Imam" is very near!! Their holy book, the koran, commands them to wipe out all non-Muslims, and Israel will be their first target.

Now is the time to turn to Jesus Christ for salvation!! It is time to get on our knees and pray for the salvation of everyone we know who is lost!! The time is short!!

It is not a time for Christians to fear for themselves, but to fear for the mass of unbelievers who will receive God's wrath unless they turn to God, by simply confessing Jesus as Lord and believing that God raised Jesus from the dead!! (Romans 10:9)

PRAYER
Thank You Father for sending Jesus fulfill the law and defeat satan. Thank You for Your Word that unveils Your truth to me so I can understand how to live my life on this earth. Help me be a light of love to those around me who are headed for destruction. I pledge to pray for all the unbelievers I know, that they will receive Your wonderful salvation.
