Speaking To Yourself

THE DAILY WORD

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV)
3. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
5. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Yes, we are waging war while we are in this world. According to this passage, our battle is against "arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God"! The goal of our war, according to this passage, is to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ"!

The war is in our minds! The challenge is to constantly water the seed of the Word of God that is planted in us, and to fight every thought that goes against that Word! We must encourage ourselves in God's Word; preaching it to ourselves!

If the Word you are standing on is for your physical healing, then that Word must take center stage in your mind, and the Word itself must come out of your mouth.

If the Word you are standing on is for financial breakthrough, then that Word must take center stage in your mind, and the Word itself must come out of your mouth!

Your own mouth is as good a preacher as any other preacher's mouth out there is. In fact, it's better; because it speaks YOUR personal language!

Ephesians 5:18-20 (KJV)
18. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19. SPEAKING TO YOURSELVES in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20. GIVING THANKS always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

We are to speak to ourselves, GIVING THANKS! That's a great way to receive the blessings of God; by thanking Him for the things that His Word says are ours-- like healing and provision! When we give thanks for something that God's Word says is ours, we are watering the seed that was planted in us; we are encouraging ourselves in the Word!

Let's demolish the strongholds in our minds that keep us from receiving the blessings of the Word of God; speaking to ourselves, giving thanks to God for what He HAS already provided for us!

PRAYER
Thank You Father for Your Word, that is planted and watered in my life when I study the written Word or hear the teaching of it from others or from my own mouth. Help me to always hear Your Word eagerly, and to believe it and act on it, allowing Your blessings to overflow into my life.
