Different Kinds Of Prayer (Part 14)
THE DAILY WORD

It's easy to worry about situations that come up in our lives, but God tells us not to worry (be anxious) about ANYTHING, but to pray:
Philippians 4:6,7 (NIV)
6. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God wants us to live worry-free lives. If there is a concern, then God should be the first one we go to about it. Once we've put the situation in God's hands and begin to thank Him for hearing our prayer, the peace that was lost by worrying will return. God urges us in His Word to cast ALL our anxiety on Him, because He cares for us:
1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
We can approach God's throne of grace with confidence, knowing that God wants us to have the help we're asking for:
Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Although God already knows what we need before we pray, He still wants us to ask:
James 4:2 (NIV)
You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.
Let's not let the cares of this life allow us to live a worry-filled existence. Instead, let's remember to cast our cares on God, who cares for us, and ask confidently when we have need.
PRAYER
Thank You Father for caring for me. Help me to not get caught up in the worries and cares of this life, but to remember that all my anxieties should always be cast on You. Help me understand Your Word so I can know you better and allow you to govern every area of my life.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
