God's Protection

THE DAILY WORD

I've heard it said that bad things happened to people because they were acting outside God's perfect will. I'm sure that HAS happened, but it is not always the case. Psalm 91 gives us some good evidence of this fact:

Psalm 91:9-12 (NIV)
9. If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge-- 10. then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all YOUR ways; 12. they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Notice that God commands His angels to guard us in all OUR ways when we make the Most High our dwelling. As stated Monday, all the good promises of God from the Old Testament are also for us under the New Testament, so this would apply to us as well if we will take hold of it!

You make the Most High your "dwelling" when you get saved; but after we get saved, we "miss it" many, many times over the course of our lifetimes.

But God said He would guard us in all OUR ways! Our ways are not always God's ways. Sometimes we don't pray about things, or don't take enough time to wait and listen to the Holy Spirit, and we goof up.

But God said He would guard us in all OUR ways!! God had to tell us that because it goes without saying that we have His protection when we're walking in HIS ways!

When we're not certain we're walking in God's perfect will, we can take hold of this promise and receive God's protection by faith!

PRAYER
Thank You Father for Your wonderful, life-giving Word. Help me comprehend Your Word and rightly divide it so I can allow You to govern my life completely.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
