Success In God's Eyes

THE DAILY WORD

John 14:23 (NIV)
Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

That's right: Jesus said He would come and make his HOME with US! That means He comes to live in us by His Holy Spirit:

1 John 3:24 (NIV)
24. Those who obey his commands live in him (Jesus), and he in them. And this is how we know that HE LIVES IN US: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

I've heard people say we need to "dress for success" in order to receive financial blessings. When they say that, I dress however I normally would at home, because Jesus lives in me even even when I'm in my pajamas sleeping in my bed; and it is HE who makes me a success!

Deuteronomy 8:8 (NIV)
18. But remember the LORD your God, for IT IS HE who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

The world says you look more successful if you choke yourself with a strip of material around your neck, wear an uncomfortable shirt, and wear an extra jacket over that shirt; even if you're boiling hot doing so!

Those are all worldly standards and have nothing whatsoever to do with being successful. Many people have money but are completely unsuccessful in carrying out God's plan for their lives! They were too busy carrying out their OWN plans!

But at the same time, I love seeing rich celebrities hanging out in blue jeans and a t-shirt, just because it goes against the grain of what the world defines "success" as looking like! Success doesn't always look the same. Success in life is simply accomplishing what God asked you to do!

Throughout the Bible we see example after example of people having success because they put their faith in God! That is because God is the source of success! It is HE who gave us the ability to BE successful at whatever we do!

PRAYER
Thank You Father for giving me the ability to produce wealth. Thank You for Your Word, that shows me how to achieve real success in this life. Help me to always depend on You.
