Spiritual Eyes
THE DAILY WORD

According to the Bible, it is satan who blinds the eyes of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel:
2 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV)
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
In Ephesians chapter 1, Paul prays for the believers at Ephesus; that the eyes of their hearts would be opened:
Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
The majority of problems on earth could be avoided if our spiritual eyes were open to see what is going on around us in the spirit realm. For unbelievers, they would see the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. For believers, they would see the hope to which they are called and the riches of their glorious inheritance!
As believers, if we feel hopeless or depressed, we need to get our spiritual eyes open! Then we will remember the joy of serving God, and we will become aware again of the peace of God that has been inside us all the time!
Sometimes people look back on their walk with God and it looks like nothing good has ever happened; but they only remember the physical circumstances; they don't remember the peace that filled them when they welcomed God's presence into their lives. They don't remember the joy they had in knowing that the Creator of the universe loves them!
We need to keep our spiritual eyes open and feed on the Word of God! Then our hope, peace, and joy will never leave!
PRAYER
Thank You Father for giving me Your Word, which can effect my life for good in so many ways. Help me to keep my spiritual eyes open and feed on Your life-giving Word constantly. Help me remember that You are for me and not against me.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
