Before We Are Born
THE DAILY WORD

Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV) (God speaking to Jeremiah)
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Here we see that God knows us BEFORE WE ARE BORN! We also see that God "forms us in the womb"! We know He's not talking about the physical body here, because God could not "know" a physical body without a spirit or soul! That means that God creates the human spirit and soul while we are still in the womb! And in order for God to "know us" while we're still in the womb, it is necessary that we have to be actually ALIVE at that point!
That means that according to the Bible, abortion is murder!
So we know that aborted babies are living beings with a spirit and soul, otherwise God couldn't have known them while they were still in the womb! The question is: do they go to heaven or hell?
Romans 7:9 (NIV) (Paul speaking)
Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
Notice here that Paul was first of all "Alive apart from law", THEN "sin sprang to life" and he DIED! (That's spiritual death.) So that means that Paul was born spiritually alive!
What killed him spiritually? Sin sprang to life and he died spiritually WHEN THE COMMANDMENT CAME! We are all born into this world with a nature of sin, but we are also all born into this world completely innocent of any sin! Sin only springs to life when we understand what is right to do and do not do it!
The Biblical definition for sin is found in James 4:17:
James 4:17 (NIV)
Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.
When a baby is born, he or she is innocent in God's sight, and has fellowship with God, as we saw with Jeremiah in the first verses above. But we are born with a nature of sin into a world of sin, that guarantees that sin will eventually "spring to life" as soon as we know what is right to do and don't do it!
Aborted babies go to heaven, since they are innocent in God's sight!
PRAYER
Thank You Father for Your Word, that tells me so much about You. Thank You for Your great mercy and kindness towards all mankind. Help me understand Your Word better so I can follow Your ways more closely.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
