These two songs are off my second album ("The Sword And The Stone") from 1987. Every single word on this whole album is either a quote straight from the Bible or a Bible quote personalized. I named the album "The Sword And The Stone" because the Word Of God is referred to in the New Testament as the "Sword of the Spirit" and Jesus Christ (the Living Word) is referred to as the stone the builders rejected. The whole point of the album is to show how anyone can receive divine healing through the Word Of God. I had just begun helping people receive supernatural physical healing at the time I wrote these songs, and the Bible verses in these songs are the keys to people receiving their healing. In fact, this album contains every piece of knowledge required to receive the supernatural healing God has provided for everyone, and His healing can be received by anyone.
I originally wrote these two songs at different times, but put them back to back on the album to make a point. The two songs even share the same track on the CD. I wrote the first song-- "The Fulfillment"-- because I wanted to publicize the fact that Bible scholars purposely mistranslated Isaiah 53:4. There can be no doubt it was done on purpose because those same translators also translated Matthew 8:16,17 in the New Testament, (Matthew 8:16,17 was the original name of the first song), which makes it perfectly clear that Isaiah 53:4 was talking about physical diseases and sicknesses. Translaters of the mainline Bible versions (King James, NIV, etc) inexplicably used the word "sorrows" instead of "diseases" or "sicknesses" for their translations of Isaiah 53:4 despite this obvious fact. The second song, "The Punishment" is from Isaiah 53:4,5, which is what Matthew quoted in Matthew 8:16,17. The second verse is a personalized version of the first verse that can be truthfully spoken by anyone.
Musically, I intended to play a lot of flute on this album, but it turns out this was the only song that sounded good with a flute part. None of the songs on this album were very well developed because I wanted the emphasis to be on the words, but this song is an exception, having a guitar solo in the beginning. I have always been into having lots of harmonies, but harmonies didn't sound right on the first song, so there are none. I finally got some harmonies in on the second song though!

The Fulfillment (Matthew 8:16,17) (Put to music on October 1, 1986)
When evening came many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him
And He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick
This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases
The Punishment (Isaiah 53:4,5) (Put to music on June 4, 1986)
Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases
He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our iniquities
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds we are healed
Surely Jesus took up my infirmities and carried my diseases
He was pierced for my transgressions
He was crushed for my iniquities
The punishment that brought me peace was upon Him
And by His wounds I am healed
