CD Notes:

1. On The Horizon 2017

I wrote this song on November 17, 2017, never expecting it to be the cover song of my next album.

The view of the horizon on the cover tells the story of this song.

2. Pivoted Man 1980

The writing of this song dates back to my High School years of the late 1970s and early 1980s,

but it refers back even further, to my Junior High days at Wood Oaks Junior High in Northbrook, IL.

All I remember is Kevin Smith, Brian Johnson, Tim Lewis, Nils Von Keudell, Craig Rogers and I being very typical Junior High kids;

and one of them made up the saying, "Don't Worry About It, Pivoted Man", and of course I had to write a song about it.

3. Butterfly 2017

I wrote this song on May 19, 2017, after thinking about how silly it would be if butterflies were really

war mongering, power hungry aggressors.

4. Lyric Lyric 2017

I wrote this song on November 16, 2017. I had the melody and rhythm part going through my mind, so obviously I thought

"Why not write a song about not having lyrics for a song?" Yes, another one of my dumber ideas...

5. Your Light Has Come 1986

This song is from way back in 1986. I love Isaiah 60:1-5, so I just had to write music to it.

6. Changed 1987

If this song was ever famous, my old band Xylem made it so. Ken Wagman played much

better leads to this song than I ever could on the Xylem recordings of it,

but because we were a 3-man band with only one guitarist, I could never fully reproduce the original song with the band.

This recording of it captures the way I wrote it back on January 20, 1987.

It is a straight quote of 1 Corinthians 15:52,55.

7. In The Land 1987

This song is a straight quote of Leviticus 26:4-8. I wrote it on December 15, 1987

as Biblical proof that God wanted Israel to have the land He gave them, and He wanted them to prosper in it.

The fact that God foretells how they would lose the land and then regain it after a "time, times, and half a time"

(2,500 years) is the subject of a couple of my video Bible messages.

8. Teach Me Your Way 1984

I've put parts of most of the Psalms in the Bible to music, and this one was one of the early ones.

This is Psalm 86:11-13 put to music, and it is the only completely acoustic song on this album.

9. Psalm 65 1984

I originally wrote this on April 1, 1984, putting parts of Psalm 65 to music.

I added the flute parts to this version just to spice it up a bit.

10. Dwells In You 1986

Although I originally wrote this in 1986, I restructured it on September 2, 2017 so it would make more sense.

It is made up of a number of quotes from Romans chapter 8.

11. Freedom 1983

I've played this song in every band I've ever been in.

With Xylem, we played it at the end of every concert with a long guitar solo at the end.

I recorded it on my 1996 album "Channel Of Life",but it didn't come out as well as I wanted.

Xylem recorded it on our second album, Xylem 2, but it didn't turn out as well as I wanted again.

This time I tried to get a good recording of what the song actually sounds like in my head.
