Gifts For The King

(Written October 22, 1982)
Recorded in 1996 (From the album "Channel Of Life")

This is another song off my fourth album ("Channel Of Life") from 1996. I originally wrote it back in 1982 but never got around to recording it until this album. I still have a lot of songs from back then that I've never recorded. This one is obviously a Christmas song, with the bells at the beginning being the first dead giveaway. I originally wrote it with just two acoustic guitar parts, but after trying it with flute I was sold on the sound.

The words aren't very deep, and there isn't a whole lot to say about them except that they describe Christmas.

Words Of The Man (Written on October 22, 1982)

About two thousand years ago in Bethlehem
In a stable, in a manger, His human life began
Shepherds from the hills, wise men with their gold
Came to see their King, prophesied of old

Gifts for the King; even then He was Creator
Gifts for the King; there is no-one greater

Come along and kneel before the Lord and King
What gift will you give? To Him I will sing

Recorded at Exodus Studio in Northbrook, IL in 1996
