BIBLICAL CONFESSIONS

Romans 10:9 - "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

 

Confession:

"I confess with my mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, therefore I am saved."

 

 

Titus 3:5-7 - "He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of life."

 

Confession:

"God saved me, not because of righteous things I've done, but because of his mercy. He saved me through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on me generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, I have become an heir, having the hope of life."

 

 

2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"

 

Confession:

"I am a new creation in Christ Jesus; the old is gone and the new has come."

 

 

Ephesians 4:23,24 - "be made new in the attitude of your minds; and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

 

Confession:

"I have been made new in the attitude of my mind; I have put on the new self that is created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

 

 

Romans 8:37-39 - "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

 

Confession:

"I am more than  conqueror through God, and nothing can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus."

 

 

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

 

Confession:

"I am patient and kind, I do not envy or boast, I am not proud, I am not rude or self-seeking, I am not easily angered, and I keep no record of people's wrongs.  I delight in the truth, I always hope and I always persevere."

 

 

2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

 

Confession:

"I do not have a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

 

 

Romans 5:5 - "And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."

 

Confession:

"God has poured out His love into my heart by the Holy Spirit."

 

 

2 Corinthians 8:9 - "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich."

 

Confession:

"I know the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for my sake He became poor, so that I through his poverty would become rich."

 

 

2 Corinthians 9:10,11 - "Now he that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causes through us thanksgiving to God."

 

Confession:

"I am being enriched in everything, to all bountifulness, which causes through me thanksgiving to God."

 

 

Galatians 3:13 - "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

 

Confession:

"Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for me.  I no longer live under the curse of the law."

 

 

Romans 8:1,2 - "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

 

Confession:

"There is no condemnation towards me in Christ Jesus; the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death."

 

 

Romans 12:2 - "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will."

 

Confession:

"I do not conform to the pattern of this world; I am transformed by the renewing of my mind."

 

 

Ephesians 1:18-21 - "I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

Ephesians 2:6,7 - "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus."

 

Confession:

"God has raised me up with Christ and seated me with Him in the heavenly realms; far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given."

 

 

Matthew 18:18 - "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

 

Confession:

"Whatever I bind on earth is bound in heaven, and whatever I loose on earth is loosed in heaven."

 

 

James 4:7 - "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

 

Confession:

"I submit to God. I resist the devil, and he flees from me."

 

 

1 John 4:4 - "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

 

Confession:

"I am of God, and have overcome all evil spirits: because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world."

 

 

1 John 5:14,15 - "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him."

 

Confession:

"I have confidence approaching God that when I ask anything according to His will, He hears me, and I have what I have asked of Him."

 

 

Matthew 8:16,17 - "When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: 'He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.'"

Isaiah 53:4 - "Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our diseases, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted."

 

Confession:

"Jesus took up my infirmities and carried my diseases; so I don't have to bear them."

 

 

Isaiah 53:5 - "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (KJV)

 

Confession:

"By Jesus' stripes I was healed."

 

 

Isaiah 53:5 - "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." (NIV)

 

Confession:

"The punishment that brought me peace was upon Jesus; so I have peace through Him."

 

 

2 Corinthians 5:21 - "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

 

Confession:

"I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus."

 

 

Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

Hebrews 11:6 - "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

 

Confession:

"I please God by walking in faith; being sure of what I hope for and certain of what I do not see."

 

 

2 Corinthians 4:13,14 - "It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence."

 

Confession:

"I have a spirit of faith; I believe, therefore I speak."

 

 

2 Corinthians 4:18 - "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

 

Confession:

"I fix my eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. What is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

 

 

Romans 4:17 - "As it is written: 'I have made you a father of many nations.' He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were."

Ephesians 5:1,2 - "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

 

Confession:

"I am an imitator of God, living a life of love, and I call things that are not as though they were."

 

 

Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."

 

Confession:

"I can do all things through Christ."
